A birth doula appreciates that women have the power to birth. Doulas assists the family in accessing their own sacred nature throughout the childbearing year. A doula also provides emotional support, physical comfort measures, an objective viewpoint and assistance with obtaining evidence-based information one may need to make empowered decisions throughout preconception, pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.
